Hello Touareg peeps. I have an 08 with 3.6L. Today I get home from a short drive less than 5 miles. I park my Treg. I come out a little while later to what sounds like someone's car running in my driveway. I look to see and realize it's my Treg. I pop the hood to fine the Aux fan running quite fast. No key in the ignition. I put the key in the fan stops. Wait a bit with key off fan starts again. The only way I can get it to stop seems to disconnect the plugs. Any advice as to what to look for or check.

Get it on VCDS and scan it for faults.

Sounds like one or both of the coolant temperature sensors are screwed

How long is a "little while later"? My fans will run a bit after shutoff. I've never timed it, however.

My 3.6 fans run after shutdown during hot weather for about 30 seconds. Can be a short trip or long. Doesn't matter.

Been checked for faults and AUX fan has been replaced. No change in behavior.

It's defiantly odd but seems normal for the 3.6.

My 2008 V8 does the same thing. When it's hot outside the fans will run for a minute or longer after shut down. No fault codes or battery drain.
