My rear spring broke. I'm not putting stock back in. Are the gts springs compatible and an upgrade?

There are threads here for the GTS sway bars if i remember rightly ... maybe the srings were done by some also. I think i remmeber maybe Hedditch did a full blow by blow with part numbers also for the sway bars ... could be wrong

I do have the part numbers for sway bars. I'll have to check for that thread to see if springs mentioned

I'm not putting stock back in.. I'll likely end up w/ Ceika custom coilovers or Bilstein b6 I'm thinking.

Alex (big bad mud tyre's thread) Seikels. I think from memory they went to Seafarer28 after that

^The thing I don't like about the HR springs is they are a lowering spring :(

From the VERY limited information I can find, I believe that you are correct. I actually spoke w/ Forge Motorsport and also my local Volkswagen parts guy at the dealership and they both agreed that likely the GTS springs would be shorter. They would definitely be sportier, but also shorter (I do NOT want a drop in ride height).

From my own research I've gathered

The GTS springs WOULD be an upgrade. They are coiled differently than Touareg and in theory are shorter, but since they are stiffer than Touareg springs you would likely only drop the car ~0.25 inch or so. You can count your coils/coil-diameter and then compare it to the Porsche Caynne GTS coils to get actual numbers.. its impossible to find spring-rates for either vehicle on the internet or by any parts department

In my opinion, the Hybrid springs should be an upgrade. The Hybrid is a heavier vehicle, has its own spring-set, therefore I'm going to inference that the Hybrid springs should be an upgrade.

H&R makes a drop spring set which supposedly enhances theory

The rubber spacers that offer 2" (and in Alex' case, 3" lift) should also in theory enhance handling because they induce more preload on the rear springs. This also should help reduce sag when towing
