So i read the entire thread about the rns510 replicas and was tempted but would prefer to avoid. I saw some nice android models and expect more to come but nothing for the touareg yet (that i could find)

what do you guys think about these systems:

both seem amazing but nothing for the touareg, any suggestions? maybe one of the other VW units can be modded to work with the touareg?

Same thing happens with Rossen head units no touareg, i think is beause its a website for US market and basically all tregs come with oem nav units already installed.

these two websites are both hong kong / china and certainly dont only target the us market, they have german and spanish on their sites.

also im not sure all us touaregs have nav, i know i have seen many without. the problem must have to do with the can bus and touareg being so specific whereas many other vw models are fairly similar making it easy to mass produce.

Those rossen ones are pretty nice, the quality in the units i've seen is very good, i just bought one in smartauto24 i'll give updates in the unit when it arrives but i don't think its going to look that sharp and is WinCE based, i saw a video that one member posted with this unit and looks ok.

thats essentially what im trying to figure out, what do units built for other vw or audi models have in common with the touareg can bus?

is it at all compatible aside from the shape? i would love to get a lets say golf unit and make my own bondo bezel

ca-fi has a vw one that seems to include all except the touareg

I'm pretty sure their basically the same... for what i've seen. I have an audi A4, just for information i went looking at the one they sale for this car also, and they sell the same exact radio, same features with the a4 case. This is from smartauto24.com
