I'm looking for viewpoints on the air suspension option. Is it really worth it for my kind of driving?
- Off road limited to rare use on sandy beachs/air pump always avail at exit point
- routine towing of a 4500lb boat/trailer pkg

I'm concerned about the reliability of the air suspension and the cost to maintain/repair down the road.

Anyone who has owned a vehicle with air suspension (any brand) for a lengthy period........please give me your service history.

Thanks!

I have it and tow a travel trailer. I like the idea of it automatically leveling the load. Reduces need for weight distribution hitch I feel. I also like the comfort level of the dampening control. Doesnt drive like an SUV when this is used. I have driven both with and without air suspension, and found a big difference in the comfort of the ride.

As far as service, I am sure when any of these toys break down they are going to cost a bundle. I had a Lincoln Contenental with air suspension, and back in the early 90's the system went haywire. At that time it was $2500 to fix.

Hopefully I wont have this problem, but I am planning on getting the extended warranty just in case. Good Luck
