So today i started my '08 Treg (3.0 TDI)
normally and noticed it was slightly higher in the back since my view was very slightly aimed towards the ground.

This was like 200 meters going, while continuing i didn't think much of it until a red warning appeared. My Treg is german and it basically tells me its got a suspension fault.
I tried restarting the car and changing the level as it works for about 30 seconds until the red warning light appears. All move besides the rear left which is stuck in Off Road. I jacked the whole car up to Off Road and am keeping it like that to prevent as much tention as i can between all struts.

It was working up until today where the warning appeared and i never heard any sort of unusual sound like the air strut blowing or anything like that. I dont use the Air Suspension a lot. It was in comfort auto mode for a long time and i changed it from time to time and kept it in sport for a while then back. Nothing Major.

Just now the rear left is stuck in Off Road.

I tried looking for any physical Damage but im not an expert so i didn't notice anything unusual.

If theres is anything i can look for before i change the whole strut it would be helpful.

Thanks

If its only one strut that is pushing up to off road height and the other 3 go up and down when different heights are selected on the dial then most likely the ride height sensor on that strut has come off or is faulty

1) Residual pressure may be blocked and need replaced
2) Ride height sensor linkage has come off the control arm or is loose. Make sure its fitted tightly
3) Ride height may be faulty

We can only speculate. VCDS will give let know what is wrong.

I dont have access to VCDS as of now, but ive got a basic OBD ELM327 device that lets me read fault codes. Nothing appearing there. And i know it works since ive been able to read some fault codes on my other car.

Basic OBD readers only read a limited number of standard fault codes. i doubt they will read anything about VW air suspension
Most cheapy units don't even look at the majority of modules\controllers.... they more or less just check the engine controller for things that would most likely cause a CEL.
