Anyone know if the adaptive cruise on the 15 & 16 models talks to the brake controller? I just did my first RV towing with our 2016. It was very impressive. I was in the “follow” position for most of our trip, as my friend was driving a gas v8 pickup. The adaptive cruise worked flawlessly even with a trailer. I know that it will apply the brakes in an emergency situation, if the adaptive gets going too fast, or closure rate is too high. My question is: Does anyone know if the braking event triggered by adaptive will also apply trailer brakes? I’d hate to have the Touareg go into panic stop mode, and the trailer pushing with no brakes.

I don't have adaptive cruise control, but I can't imagine that the trailer module would not activate the trailer brakes.
I know that if the ESP brakes a wheel it also brakes the trailer.
The trailer module output that goes to the brake controller is generated within the trailer module and not the brake switch on the pedal or the brake lights on the car.
