Hello all. Today while driving my ac decided to release all the pressure into the car and outside the car. After work I pulled the windshield wiper tray off and the high pressure sensor was blown off, looked like all the oil and freon released from it.. is it reusable or should I replace it, before refilling with refrigerant? Thanks (y)

I'm no A/C-ologist but I'd say if the sensor blew off once it'll probably do it again and release all the enviro-friendly Freon into the atmosphere.
Sounds like the system was either over-charged or the sensor just failed.
Replace it and then do a proper refill with the right oil and Freon amount.

SOP is to replace the drier whenever the system is open and to, of course, pull a deep vac preferably using a micron guage. 500 microns is the target. if you can get close its a good sign any residual humidity has been removed. If you rely on a manifold gauge its just guess work.

Replace the switch and get it recharged. No big deal it’s just a pinhole leak. Common problem on 2008’s for some reason.
