I have a 2005 V6 with 169k miles. Had a whirring sound from front drivers side wheel.
Mechanic replaced the wheel bearing but then got an ABS fault. Replaced the speed sensor on the same wheel still ABS fault.
I have read where you may need to clean or replace speed sensor on the other side due to air gapping causing a difference in signal strength.
Anyone have this same experience and what worked to fix. BTW the whirring went away but the ABS fault is causing shifting issues unless shift in manual.
Appreciate any thoughts.

Thank you all for your quick responses and input. Turns out the wheel bearing was in backwards which solved the problem.'
But now I have a brake pad light coming on. Could it be related? At last check mt brake pads were 4MM both front and back. No symptoms of brake pad failure.

Possibility that the brake wear sensor, the connector for it, or the wires were damaged doing the repair.

How many miles since the pads were checked?

Next step is to measure the thickness of the rotors to see if they will need changing along with the pads which is the norm as the wear tolerance on the rotors is very small and it's unlikely they will take another set of pads before going undersize.
