Hey guys, I have a few random questions and rather than creating 3-4 separate threads. Also to make it easier, I have a 2004, V6 T1 with the bi-xenon auto leveling headlights.

1: I FINALLY fixed my leaking rear washer....thankfully all it was, was a lose connection, reconnected and zip tied to prevent further disconnection from occurring but now ran into possibly another problem. When I use the rear washer, it just shoots washer fluid down the rear window, and it shoots it for a long time so yes it does clean the window but so much is just shot down the car that it seems VERY inefficient. My question is, could I be missing a piece that would make the washer fluid spray out in a fan shape as opposed to a straight line down the rear window?

2: The light on the back of my lift gate (the one on the actual lift gate) is burnt out, I did manage to take it off the lift gate and i disconnected a wire that was clipped to it but i could not for the life of me figure out how i could get to the actual bulb...anyone gone through similar problems?

3: This question isn't about getting to the Headlight bulbs....I have read up and watched a couple videos on it so I know how to remove the headlight housing but the one part that I don't understand is how I can get the headlight bulb out of the assembly and replace it. I seen some pictures and it appears to be connected to some wires, and I understand how to disconnect the wires but how do I get the bulb out. Does it just slide out after disconnecting the wires or are there any screws involved?

4: Is there any way to turn off those darn memory seats? I have tried like 20 times to program it to the way I like to drive but it only remembers the way the last driver liked to drive. So EVERY SINGLE TIME I drive anywhere I have to readjust the damn seats and sometimes I drive to multiple places so I readjust the seats 5 times a day and sometimes more.....thank god the last driver had the mirrors exactly how I like them or else I would have to fix those as well.

Thank you for taking the time to read all the questions and I hope you guys will be able to help me out as you have COUNTLESS times before.

First of all, THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH for taking the time to reply to my questions.

FourDiesel: I do have the manual and I tried everything you said and it still refuses to learn my memory settings. I guess my next question is, is there a way to completely disable memory settings or erase memory settings so that the seat will stay in the position it was when I turn off the vehicle?

TouaregMNE: thanks for explaining how to get the bulb out, when I seen the pics I was confused but seems easy enough.

Noob: I'm talking about the combined red warning/white courtesy light in the bottom edge of the tailgate that you only see when you open the tailgate, not the light that TouaregMNE was talking about although I do appreciate him taking the time to find me the link to the part number.

I'll have a look at mine in the morning: see if I can figure it out whilst you're asleep!

I'm just off up the wooden hill now.
Ok sounds great, thank you very much. Also you Brits and your sayings, i hear a new one everyday. You had me wondering what the heck a wooden hill was for a few minutes till i figured it out hahahahah.

i can't thank you enough noobs, i really really really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to show me how to change the bulb. honestly I'm not even the gushy or squishy type but you have no idea what it means to me for someone who is a complete stranger, who lives on the other side of the world, and has a 1000 better things to do and gets no benefit from helping me, to take time out of their day to help me out. Although i doubt i will ever be able to help you out with anything touareg related, i will try when i can. And ditto on the completely unnecessarily complicated (everything) in the touareg. I wonder if the newer touaregs are easier to DIY, i read somewhere that VW intentionally made the new touareg easier to DIY but im not sure.

THANK YOU!!!

WOW Noobs, that sounds terrible. I can totally see that happening now that you mention it. Even here where American cars -which we call domestics- have always been known to be very easy to DIY (even for people who are just beginning), they too are becoming very complex and difficult to fix. Yesterday my brother very graciously drained my battery by leaving the lights on and a phone charger in the treg, and I completely forgot about the battery terminals in the engine bay so I was sitting there trying to get to the battery under the drivers seat.....which got me thinking....why make a vehicle so unnecessarily complex? believe me, I knew what I was signing up for way before I bought the treg but still....if I had to name my one gripe with the touareg, it would have to be complexity, not fuel economy, not cost of repair (which im convinced would be cheaper had it not been for the complexity), not even cost of ownership. If the touareg was not so amazing, I would be more bothered by some of its short comings but I think its an awesome tank so I don't mind putting up with it.

Pilottim: Thank you, I will give that a try for sure....maybe that's why its not catching? I will try it and report back

as always, thank you for the help
