Hi there m, I own a 2009 Touareg with the RNS-510 touchscreen. I'm currently having problems using my MDI connector with a Viseoo Bluetooth transformer (after a short time of listening to music, it just cuts off). So I am considering upgrading to installing a Bluetooth module. I've heard of people talking about a certain harness that is needed in my car... And that I would need a 9w3 Bluetooth module to fit it. When I called several VW dealers and spoke to their specialist. They just couldn't give me any satisfying information concerning my options. Is there maybe anyone here that could give me more possibilities for audio streaming and even being able to make phone calls? In attachment the best picture I currently have of my radio and steering wheel if any more pictures or information is needed to help me out. I'd be happy to give you this.

Yes you can use the 9w3 unit with this cable to complete the VW setup.
Wiring Harness Cable FOR VW RCD510 RNS510 RNS315 9W7 9W2 Bluetooth 1K8 035 730 D | eBay

It will not stream Bluetooth music but will give you info in your MFD. the 9w2 unit will not do either. The 9w7 but it will steam music but will not work with your MDF or your steering wheel controls I don't think.

No,. you are better off with the Fiscon unit as it will display call information in your MFD (dashboard), and by replacing the right hand switch cluster with part number 7L6959538E ( 7 button) you will be able to control the phone from the steering wheel.

The 9w7 will work for streaming audio but will not interface with the MFD as it uses BPA protocol which is not supported by the Touareg. So it only functions/displays in the RNS510..

Either I buy the 9w7 and accept the fact that I'll only see everything on my RNS-510 and spend about $250-$300 or I buy the fiscon unit and buy the right hand 7 button steering wheel cluster and spend about $500-$600, but have it work flawlessly with my whole system.

The E-MFa will display all data which is broadcasted by your car on the can-bus. This fully depends on the car itself and we cannot tell you in advance which data is available. Usually, all information works except for oil and boot-information. This is fully car dependent.

On the 2010 car, the emfa might work but we cannot guarantee this to you.

I have the (Mid) 9w3 and it works fine but I could not get the 9W3 to display in MFI without calling and receiving call issues. I ended up without the 9W3 in the MFI. I am happy.
