I've had unexplained CP errors on mine as well.... have been unable to find cause. There is some speculation that there could be an SW update available at VW, but I've been unable to get this confirmed by anyone, including the one person who I recall mentioning the "had it done".

Most people simply say "faulty module" and expect me to load up a new module into the parts cannon. I just blow away the code when I see it and go about my life...

I know that's not helpful, but that's all I've got.

Yes, that's the firmware\rev on the controller.
Unfortunately, the one dude who claimed to have received an update fell off the planet 9 years ago, so I've never received any confirmation of his claim.

I don't even know what that means. Component protection is 0 (false) but there are 874 malfunctions. That's ridiculous.

Because it's an "intermittent" thing, the code basically self clears eventually, and unless you scan your vehicle often, you're not even aware of it most of the time... the odd time when you're really relying on the HVAC and its functionality is reduced, then you actually notice and start looking into what's going on.
