Do you have any NAPA auto parts stores near you? The ones around here carry Lubro moly TopTec 4200. That is what I use. Don’t gamble on the wrong oil. Find the 507 spec.

As stated stick with 507 spec for your engine. Online is easiest.

Go to the dealer. They carry OEM Castrol and it's the cheapest oil I've found locally that still meets 507

 

Don't listen to him... just use whatever garbage you find on sale.... maybe try some Valvoline high mileage or something... CNRBs are cheap to replace anyways.

I live in an area where TDIs are super popular, and there are no places I know of besides VW dealers that stock 507 oil. Just save yourself the hassle and order it online. Look at the complete kits from IDParts.

Proper TDI maintenance is even harder.... we all have our own struggles!

 

For those up north:-
Pennzoil platinum euro LX 0w30
Quaker state euro LX 0w30
Canadian tire OE plus 0w30
All the same oil which I found is Shell Helix Ultra ECT C2/C3 which is a great oil in Europe with a high concentration of boron additive.
It's also close to the borderline of a Xw40 oil with a nearly 12 cst at 100c.
I buy whatever goes on sale. With a oil filter it's usually $80-$85 CDN all in with my Treg.

Also the usual Mobil 1 ESP is available also. Dealership oil is 0W30 up here too.

 

Walmart's around me have Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 that is 507.00. Advance Auto has Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 and that's what I use.

 

Mobil 1 ESP 0W30.

 

We're not exactly in a position to throw stones. Besides, their loonies/two-neys spend just as well as our bucks. Let's all just get along and enjoy our Touaregs, mkay?

I know how to get around it. A thread with 'Enabling VIM on the RNS850' will do the trick Then You can then post test films You've just been watching And posting TPS reports out of it

 

I just switched to Motul 8100 X-clean+ in 5W30 as it was cheaper than the Valvoline Euro at Amazon. Free shipping on oil is no joke.
