That's really wierd. Not to be an ass, but are you sure you're looking in for the correct fuse in the passenger side end of the dash? I don't know how the radio could work without it.

I'll try to look at my manual and my fuse anel tonight to see if there are any other oddities, as well as which row and position my fuse 11 is in.

Yes, passenger side. You have to open the front passenger door to access. I used a screwdriver and pried the panel off that revealed the fuses. I'll look again but I didn't see any fuses labeled "11". And according to the diagram that is on the panel, fuse 11's slot, is empty.

That wasn't the only fuse missing. Do you have all of your fuse slots filled? Thanks for your help.

I do recall not all my fuse slots being full, but I really don't remember which ones were empty. I'll check into it later.

try this....

Pull the foam material back on the right side of the fuse box......there were more fuses that were not visible until I did that. Also, the lay-out of the fuse box is on both the front and back of the card inside the fuse box door. I pulled my fuse 11 yesterday and have RDS back for the first time in about a year and a half....I almost forgot what it looked like :dance:

I will try that. Does the fuse itself have the #11 on it? I didn't see any fuses labeled "11" or is it that I'm supposed to look at the number 11 slot??? thanx for your help!

I just checked and was able to finally locate the fuse 11 slot but without any fuse in it. When I asked the dealer, they said there isn't supposed to be a fuse there. My fuse 11 slot is deffinetely empty. What should I do? Order a replacement fuse 11?? What color is the fuse?

Not sure of the color of the fuse, I'd have to check. My fuse card shows the slot number and a little picture code of what it is for. It looks to me that both fuse 11 and 12 are for the radio (at least the picture looks like a radio??). I think the dealer is full of crap. I also have a 2004 V6 with standand Non NAV radio/CD player.

Well I finally got it to work. No thanks to the dealer. I really am not impressed with their over all knowledge of the touareg. They kept telling me that there is no fix for the RDS problem. Hah, I can't wait to go down there and show my service advisor that I fixed it without his help. I love the internet! Have you noticed it dissappears if you switch channels too fast? My girlfriend was browsing the radio dial and she wouldn't let the RDS show up for each station before going to the next one. All the sudden, it was gone. So I took out the fuse put it back in and it's back. Just wondering if you've noticed what it is that makes the RDS go away. Thanks for your help.

When I brought my T-Reg into the dealer over a year ago for this problem, they relaced the radio to fix it. When the second radio did the same thing, they then claimed that VW of NA no longer subscribes to RDS which is why it goes away....randomly. I seem to remember in a past thread that somebody said that the minute you start playing with the preset functions of the radio it kills the RDS and the fuse needs to be pulled again. Honestly, after getting all spun up over it, I finally just came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth getting all upset about. I rsset the fuse, because I was bored at work and wanted to see if it would work. When I tried it the first time (over a year ago), I reset the fuse on the driver's side and not the passenger side and got nothing....so I gave up.

This feature was gone on my radio after the Service Campaign that was done. I just pulled the fuse and it is now back!! :mrgreen: I love this forum but when I bring it up at the dealer they cringe. :smile:
