I pick my car up from the shop today or tomorrow. Mine definitely has a ~.25-.5 second rattle on turnover. 2016 TDI / 33K milesAny audible starting noise\rattle?
agreed! And yeah it’s less than a half a second, I’ve never heard the sound continue. And the cars in-service was 5/2019 so my factory PT goes to 5/2029 + 100K and dieselgate to 5/2029 + 120K. Crazy amount of factory warranty on this 6 year old beast. On cold starts, you'll get that.... I wouldn't sweat it.
If it keeps up after the first initial few seconds, then I'd start paying attention to it and possibly checking the phase position more frequently. Either way, you've got lots of dieselgate warranty left over, so no need to stress over it much at this point.
of course😔. Thank you for clearing That up. Now I know I am more time limited than mileage limited.Your factory powertrain goes from date of manufacture
amazing. Thank youNegative

No more rattle now then since diesel 'fix' over 100k ago.
400K miles on a 7P CATA ? that is encouraging. Are you the original owner? If I think about this tomorrow, I will share what a 2000 mile set of chains on a CATA looks like. Mine went 401000 before I changed my chains
