Well its been well over 6 months that I moved from 2011 4XMotion to a New Launch Edition. Main reason was just due to age of previous one and the 285K kms on the clock.
I have just completed a 5,000km trip towing 3.3Ton Van Sunshine Coast to Muckadilla, Windorah, Birdsville, Bullia , Winton , Longreach, Emerald Canarvon Gorge and home.

Positives : New one is More Refined, Quieter, Slightly More Powerful (Seems to be more urgent) Better fuel economy and tows brilliantly. The Tech is great with the Innovision Package (Not worth the $8K but is still great)

Negatives : Much Smaller Fuel tank 75 Litres . Old one 100 Litres. No 4 X Motion, No decent Under Body Protection, not quite as much clearance and a New Wheel Offset and Tyre size which currently means no ATR Tyres. I wrecked 1 and had to Patch another, so hopefully will bring out an ATR in this size.

Economy wise I have dropped from a Happy range of 500kms towing to 400 Kms towing . Smaller tank only effects really when towing as economy on new one is brilliant. About 2 litres per 100 better than previous model.

Once returned I did a 460 Km round trip (No Van) from Sunshine Coast to Tweed and Back. 35 Mins stop start at Border Crossing and peak hour traffic in Brisbane 5.30pm on return. Average Fuel 5.7 l p/100 KMs. WOW.

If they bring out ATR in this size, and I get Under Body protection then I am more than Happy with Change to new model. Had a few Interested lookers when I was at the Top of Big Red . Photo Attached.

Fantastic review mate. You could have always spend another $8k and got a 90L fuel tank. Lol. The options add up.
I get the same sort of mileage unhitched as well. What was your L per 100km towing the van?
In the process of looking at vans at a similar weight to yours so it will be good to know.
Unfortunately wasn't an Option on Launch Edition (I dont believe) . Would have loved a 90 Litre tank. Towing is so dependent on conditions and speed. I will generally tow at 100 or at 105 (if 110 Zone) Best I got for a day was High 14's , but generally was 16 to 17 , which for weight and speed is really good. Generally will sit at 1600 RPM in 8th at 100 km p/h.
One day I was driving from Winton to Longreach , car was in 6th and doing like 22 litres, so I pulled over after about 20 ks to check brake on caravan wasnt on 1 click or something. Got out of car and was quite windy. Have had heads winds before but never likk this. 22 Litres Average from Winton to Longreach. Spoke to a few other travellers at park who were all talking about it. Cruiser driver was 28 Litres and a Dodge Ram was 31 Litres. Made me feel much better. Have not seen it that high before and was just for one day. I slowed down to 80 kms for about 10 kms and could'nt go that slow

Nice review mate. Can you fill us in on the tyre size you're after on the new rig. I've given you a couple of options on your other thread. Cheers
Didnt really want to go narrower, but might be only option. You been happy with the Nitto's
