NTFS worked and FAT32 didn’t work, for me.
No need to seperate files download the Asia segment and install as per PDF.

Yes it dies not like Fat 32!

I've been told by the salesman I dealt with that VW is negotiating with telcos in Australia to get a data connection after which traffic will be shown. Supposedly when the sim card is installed VW will also be able to send software updates as well.

I followed the instructions and put the SD card into the slot. The Screen told me a software update is available, and then the message disappeared, never to be seen again.
I could not find any way to get things started. In the advanced section of the Nav screen there is no prompt to start the update. Any Ideas?

I presume you have downloaded the software and unzipped it.

Yes, the files on the SD card are the same 2 that are shown in the instructions. I assume they are correct because the car screen states that a software update is available as soon as I insert the card.

Yes make sure you format it NTFS NOT Fat 32

Yes, The sd card is NTFS and has 2 folders, Data and Meta, as per the instructions.

My suggestion is to start again. I presume not only your sd but the hard drive on your pc is NTFS.

I've done it twice now, but I'll have another go.
When the card is plugged in and I get the message that a software update is available, should I expect to have to agree or select an option somewhere? How else would I know if the update is progressing?

Yes, actually I was, and I couldn't find the 'version information' as described in the document. I found that it isn't called version information but 'system information'. I now realise that I should have fiddled around more but I tend to follow instructions as written, word for word. Anyway, things are underway now. Thanks for your help.

anyone got this this version to update, mine seems to hang "software update in progress" without any progress, compared to the last update i did which showed progress rather quickly.

Did mine today, no probs although it did sit doing nothing for maybe 5 mins an then away it went
