Hey all I'm new to the TDI world so this question may be dumb:

Does the TDI use the torque converter in the 8sp more so than a gas version?

I'm noticing the RPM staying constant for a period while accelerating. It feels nice actually, big rush of torque say in 3rd gear from 30-50 mph. Just seems like it holds the RPMs in a sweet spot for a bit before the RPM's climb.

I'm thinking this is all normal for a diesel, but just checking in case i'm wrong?

Cheers.

Same for gas, also on 2nd to 3rd change. I'm sure VW engineers know more than I do, but it always sounds like someone who don't know how to use a clutch to me...:)
