From what I am reading in Germany the new model Touareg has the same RNS850 system with new software. There is no reason why the current model RNS850 can't be updated with the same software.
Point to note Audi's MMI 3 which uses the same operating system and maps is possible to load into the RNS850 now. We have a local specialist who is offering an RNS850 update with Audi 2014 maps that include google earth and street view.

Great to see you have it working Singh, just out of interest does online traffic work from google maps or is it just the Suna TMC.

Did you confirm Online traffic its from Google?
GE and street view is working but I have always a message that says that online traffic is not available.

In Portugal we don't have TMC to.
Hi Raul
Now I am not 100% sure this is the case with VW but with Audi Online traffic is not active any more with 3rd party activation of GE. That is if activation was not provided with the delivery of the vehicle from factory. The license for Online traffic is active for 3 years and the vehicle's VIN needs to be embedded in one of the scripts. The old work around was use a known active VIN but now this also needs some other coding with the script data.
This problem presented itself late 2016 as a result of Audi cracking down.

In Australia we have TMC available for traffic via FM broadcasting, if Online traffic didn't work than it would default to that.

You will find most with Online traffic ticked are only receiving our Suna FM traffic which still provide major traffic events but not as detailed as Online. The VW RNS850 maps display traffic better than the Audi MMI 3G Plus maps.

For those interested Google Earth as in Audi Connect will not provide weather or fuel pricing but has a very detailed parking database in Aust, go figure ????

I had it working but it stopped so also fiddled with TMC sets. Back to (undefined) 0/20 now. Still nothing.
You have the correct setting as undefined. Be aware that SUNA traffic (in Australia) does sometimes give limited messages, which may mean a few days without any alerts. This is common with the RNS850/MMI system.

If you do have some concerns with your settings go back into VCDS and confirm your code. Also after you play around with your sets in the green menu you will need to reboot the system to confirm your changes.

FYI - SUNA traffic is not giving me any messages just now, that is after a good half an hour drive around Sydney.

Drove around all day today and still no messages from SUNA on the MMI (RNS850), but the Golf's MIB there were heaps.
Their service is on par with NBN download speeds ;)

Still no show on the Audi's MMI with Suna traffic but working fine on the Golf's MIB2.
My Audi was delivered enabled so it is not a licence issue there, if anything the Golf's code would cause problems.

Like is said before, Suna traffic comes and goes some days, it is not uncommon for no messages for 4 to 5 days. When I first got the vehicle and played around with the settings in the green menu I thought I had lost activation but not the case.

I'll let you know once it is back as I'll be driving the Audi all week.

Hasn't worked for me at all.... someone needs to stop tinkering and revert the settings....
Stay in there, your systems are not at fault. I have had blackouts in and out all week and seeing reports from others (Audi forum) of the same problems. I have flagged this to customer service.
On another note I have a Navman with SUNA traffic sitting next to my dash (use it for camera locations and school zones mainly) and this is picking up limited and slow messages, could be it does not like the weather
