I have lurked on this site for nearly ten years, but only owned my 2014 touareg TDI Exec Rline white/saddle TDI for a couple days. I drove a 2005 passat TDI wagon for 10 years. It had a lot of engine braking compared to the V6 TDI which seems to glide effortlessly. I do not bring this up as a problem, as I am sure it is normal. But I was surprised the V6 TDI had so little engine braking. Even downshifting the 8 speed with the paddle shifters doesn't provide as much as I'd have expected. My passat brakes lasted 100,000 mi but I guess this Treg will require more brake jobs due to the mass and less engine braking.

Anyone else observe similar? Just wanting to validate my observation (as a new owner with new car spidey senses on high sensitivity)
