Hello everyone i am new here and in the market for a touareg tdi, we found one at the dealer for a good price because of all the incentives they have trying to get rid of the 14's. My question is would it be worth waiting for the 2015's to come out or take the awesome deal on the 2014.Will the new changes in the 2015 be worth the extra money I'm sure there won't be any incentives on the 2015 touaregs for quite some time .I am located in canada and the price for the 2014 touareg tdi exec is $62,000 with taxes and has 6000 km on it as it was the general managers demo unit, is this a fair price to pay if there is anyone from canada that can compare.

I would try to lower the price and have the extended warranty included. Don't forget it is still a demo and a new Touareg had lots of good reductions on them plus the interest rates were really low in order to get rid of them. Dealers have a hard time to get rid of their demo's so push him to lower the price or go for a new 2014 if one is available in the province.
My thoughts

For reference, I just did a quick build of a 2014 TDI Exe on the VW Canada site and it came to around $75k with taxes ($8000). Ouch. $75k is the price of a decently equipped Cayenne in the States - but State taxes and fees are extra. With the aggressive markdown, suggest checking inventory of dealers in your area (200 mile search area) on the VW Canada site. It may be worth an email where you can compare new vs demo. As far as waiting for the 2015 (like I am doing), that is a gamble but the rumored improvements appear substantial. Now if they would just get out of the rumored phase.

I wouldn't call the facelift "substantial". There's a bit of a tweak on the higher BHP Tdi, and a marginal improvement in fuel consumption with the new "coasting" function in the transmission [like stop/start, it's not to everyone's taste], but the rest is pretty much cosmetic and, frankly, again not to everyone's taste unless you really like plastic chrome.

My dealer (Autobarn of Mt. Prospect IL) has been pestering me with snail mail, phone calls and emails about wanting my 2012 Toureg…

def '14. demos are usually a steal
Maybe in the USA but here my dealer in Ottawa can't sell his Demo's and the new 2014 Touareg's were not selling very well. I was the second person to buy a touareg for the year which was Aug and he gave me a better discount than announced plus a very good trade in for my Golf TDI Highline just to make the sale. Now with winter the sales might be better, but I am not too sure of that.

I saw somewhere on here that the improvements for 2015 include allowing more features that the current version has in other parts of the world. The page was for Canadian packages.

Same dealer. Same blitz. I told the guy if he can get me one with the Euro sport seats with ventilation, I would be interested. Of course, he knew little about the specs.

I was mulling over the same decision over the past two weeks and went with the 2014 over the 2015 because I got $9500 off MSRP for a 2014 Exec. For that kind of savings, I can do without adaptive cruise control, though I would have liked the front end collision mitigation. Had both on my last car, an Acura MDX, and they were nice, but vented seats? Had those on the Acura, too, and hardly every used them. I wanted the TDI engine more than anything else. Just couldn't take 14 mpg anymore...

It's a no brainier to get the '14 with that kind of savings. Point is, ventilated seats should be part of the top trims. That's how other comparable SUVs do it and how VW does it everywhere but in North America.

I have no idea on the specs for the '15 other than the exterior pics. Very little info on the interior except for the fancy new control knobs. When I do come across a pic for the interior, it often says 'European model shown.'

I don't know if you have made your decision but I have getting prices on the 2015 Exec and I can get it for about $64,000 before taxes. The price of the Exec has gone up but it includes lots of nice technology like: Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot monitoring, Lane Assist, Bird Eye view etc.. Having most of these options in my current MDX I will get the 2015 and get the new options.

The 2015 execline and highline from what I have seen so far does not come with the Rline any more or the sport suspension. That is what makes the price difference.
