My wife's 2013 TDI has been flawless and maintained by VW above and beyond the factory service schedule.

Just hit 104k and I started noticing some noise and could feel kind of a groan/vibration when turning to the right and the right only. Sounded and felt a bit like low power steering fluid and it was at the min line. Ordered up some CHF 202 and topped it off a few days later. No change.

Figured ok... gotta be an outside passenger CV, I'll replace the half shaft... but yet, no leaking boots and no clicking. Took it to a local mech I use to double check this and put it on the rack, we looked it over and drove it... don't think it's a CV and I agree. It will make the noise in forward and reverse as long as you are turning to the right...but not every time. Seems to be more predominate after driving 10-15 miles.

I'm starting to think it might be power distribution related but not only is it only when turning to the right but it feels like it is front right. Drive straight.. no prob/sound... turn left, no prob/sound. Steering rack maybe?

What am I missing? I'm a car guy, started doing most of the common maintenance on this after our 100k bumper to bumper was done (go figure), I've run engine machine shops, built all kinds of vehicles, raced 2 and 4 wheels....but I'm no VW Touareg expert and am a bit stumped.

And no... I didn't mean a transaxle... meant Trans/Axle related issue... forgot the /.

I'm not finding a lot of tech data on the front axle/half shafts, etc.

The power steering system is often noisy. Hopefully when you were checking it over, the condition of the power steering rack was part of what was inspected. You might want to replace the power steering fluid. New fluid has helped some of the members here with strange steering noises.
