Brought my car in for a Roadworthy check today, turns out it's leaking oil from the drain plug and possibly the rear main seal and it won't pass RWC. The drain plug shouldn't be too much of a problem but the mechanic said the rear seal can be costly and it's not worth fixing with labor costs up to $5- $8k(AUD) and shops rarely take jobs like this.
Idk how much and how fast it's leaking but the oil gauge does drop faster since prob 195,000KMs, car's 209000kms btw. I'll probably try to remove the underbody covers and clean it off to see how fast it takes for it to leak again.
Is there anything else that can be done to get the car to pass RWC other than replacing the seal or what's your opinion on this?
Thanks
