Good day Everyone.

I am new to the Touareg topic and I please need some advice. I am looking at buying a 2012 Touareg T2 with 155 000 km and the VR6 engine. The car has no low range nor air suspension.

Question being, How capable is the vehicle only having the "offroad " setting and what are the things I should be cautious about particularly with regards to the engine?

I am really hoping on some advice.

Thanks in advance

Cheers,

Markus

Hello Marcus ..... for Nambia i would be looking at a more capable option for your country.

Diesel is good in any open space country.

Do you need low range for what you need to do. Forgive me I dont know the MY12 i guess it has 8 gears. Your need to figure out what you intend to do and use it for and apply appropriately .....

VR6 engine .. i guess this is petrol. I would stay away. Bottom engine in this vehicle line if you ask me. ....... if petrol ....

Marcus... what did you decide to do ? I just looked at the same vehicle here in the States yesterday and passed on it because it has only that funky "on road" and "off road" setting and no Air suspension ??
I have a 2006 V6 with the high and low range and a locking center Differential.. it's very capable on and off road... it's got steel suspension and the Trans is a 6 speed.. It use's premium octane gasoline...I use mine to mostly to tow a 20' boat with and no issues at all.. So I'm looking for another one to drive daily.. and would love to try one with an Air Suspension and of course the locking differentials..
I've had a GM product Diesel and hated it.. and don't trust Diesel's anymore in car/SUV applications.. but it may make sense in your country..
