Hello! This is my first post, so please forgive me if I've broken any rules...

I just replaced the brakes on my '12 TDI and now have a parking brake fault. How do I reset the brake? Do I need to take it to the stealership?

Thanks!

Last chap who did this had to go to the dealer to get the parking brake reset - and he was a very experienced Touareg DIYer!

I replaced my rear brakes with no problems. I just turned off the drum brake and it went together perfectly. I have a 12 fsi lux model. I'm curious what the problem was that you encountered.

Everything went together just fine. The issue is that I didn't know how to reset the air gap on the electronic parking brake, therefore I have a parking brake fault. It's quite annoying! It continually beeps until I reach 45mph then starts again when I stop.

I think the video that was posted on the previous reply should fix it. I haven't had a chance to try it.

Did you replace the parking brake shoes? I didn't mess with the parking brake one bit and it appears to work fine now 10k miles after my rotor/pad change.
