Whats the "MUST REPLACE" items that I should replace before it breaks and leaves us stranded on a vacation somewhere? I.E water pump, injectors, timing chain etc. Runs great, getting ready to do full fluid exchange and trans service, new rotors brakes, lower control arm bushing have worn out. Is it worth $5-$8k in maintenance and upkeep to give us peace of mind that what could brake has been replaced?

Last year was the HPFP, a/c, def sensor, There have been no other issues so I havent had to fix for the past 100k miles except for fluids, brakes, shocks, tires

Without VCDS you're blind. If HPFP was replaced, I'd look at injector condition. What are your DPF stats like? Battery stats?

Water pump, engine coolant, both thermostats, serpentine belt w/ all idlers and tensioners, any coolant hoses that are cracked, overly soft, or weeping fluid. You can check the timing chain and DPF ash loading in VCDS per Soot's threads.

I would make sure every step of the maintenance schedule has been completed for one
