How can I establish which frequency the Key Fob has? I've searched the forums here. It can be either 315 MHz, 433 MHz or 868 MHz. Maybe Aussie Tregs all the same frequency, which one?

I need a spare key, it only came with one. Dealer price is $A770 and will take 6 weeks, local locksmith wants to check frequency, and may be about $A330

Any suggestions welcome. I'm in Hobart.

Hi mate,
Welcome.

Have you tried these guys? Transponder Car Keys

They seem to specialise in this sort of thing.

Hi I'm in Melbourne and have the same problem - this info MAY be specific about my car - but I'll share and you can judge for yourself.

Having purchased a 315MHz that doesn't work I can rule out that frequency
I have a HAM radio - when I set it to 433MHz and press the button on my fob I get a short transmit signal from the fob.
My radio cant monitor 868MHz so I cant confirm that this is not just general interference.

I am going to take a punt on ordering a 433MHz and see how I go - If you want to wait until it arrives I'll post an update

Steve
