Hi guys, hoping to lean on your experience and wisdom

Currently deciding between a 2011 MY12 180kw and a 2013 MY14 150kw both have 90k kms (55k miles) with only two or three grand separating them - 2013 is more.

Is there any difference mechanically between them? Were there any important updates during that time that would warrant the extra $$?

I've seen a few horror stories about the HPFP causing 10k worth of repairs and owners on here saying they sold the treg because of it - Is this unique to 2011-2012 models? And will using lube in the fuel prevent this for happening? or will it just lower the chances.

From what I gather the only cosmetic differences is that the 2013 has bi-xenon headlights, I'm leaning towards the 2011 because its black and has a bigger engine.

I stand to be corrected but from memory I think the vast majority [and possibly all?] the HPFP failures have been in the US . . .

ah okay, there doesnt seem to be too many posts on the forums about it and the ones there are are from the US. Thanks for helping a nooby.
