Hey guys, our 2010 Touareg TDI has been getting this CEL on for a few weeks now and I keep wiping it with VCDS. At first it wasn't often but now it will come back once or twice in a day.

Here is what I pulled out from VCDS

So I am guessing I should replace the NOx sensor and it should fix the issue? is there more then one NOx sensor?

Lastly, any good places where I can purchase this sensor from?

Thank you!

Has anybody had the NOx sensor issue?
Did you do a search?

I know others have had this problem and I've read about solutions here before in other threads.

Don't have any idea where to source the parts, eh?

What's your warranty on said car, time and km's coverage?

Hey, I have searched but it seems that people have had it replaced under warranty.

We don't have warranty on it so I'm left to try to fix/replace it myself.

I just called the VW dealer,
old part number:059907807E
new part number: 059907807H

Price...it doubled. From 458.00 to 1085 for the unit. WTF??!?!!?!?

check out a different dealer, even in our area I've found that different dealers have different prices.

How about you go to the parts department in person to the parts counter. Have them look it up, show you the part on the diagrams. You may need to access ElsWIN for a day on your computer, in advance, print all you can out, to get a manual on how to service.

Might even be cheaper to order it in the states and have it shipped to you. 1st VW parts on the internet, look them up. they are in Washington State.

Engine light just came on. Dealer called and gave me a quote of $970 installed. I am sick over this as he said the part is over $500.
I love this truck but VW is killing me. I Dumped my Wolfsburg Tiguan this summer over a blown Turbo just out of warranty , traded it in on a Cherokee Trail Hawk. Trail Hawk uses 87 octane and get the same 27-28 mpg. Tiguan needed 93 octane.

So now what do I do with an 85,000 mile Touareg ? keep it and pray for no more expensive repairs emissions related ? Add Blu had to be completely replaced but done under warranty at the time. Brake jobs are wildly expensive but thanks to this great site I bought the whole setup through the parts guy on this site ( saved me a ton ). Whats next ?
