Definitely not but I probably won't be able to register my car in CA anymore. I want to keep mine too. But I will sell it for approx what VW would give me in order to keep it on the road. I find this buyback more harmful to the environment that leaving them alone and figuring out a fix for the Gen1.

Was noted somewhere on this forum if you keep it you will not be denied registration of the vehical.

Under current Emissions testing they technically all pass as long as everything is functioning the way it was meant to function. Who does real time emissions testing, no one that I am aware of.
