Thanks for your help in advance forum members.

Can anyone please confirm whether the 2008 v6 has a timing belt, or timing chain? The owners manual seems to reference a belt, but I've seen several posts here indicating it's a chain.

Just a quick belt/chain answer will do.

It is 110% a timing chain. All touaregs from 2007-2010 (with maybe the V10 being an exception) had a timing chain

The belt it's referencing would be the accessories belt?

I don't know why I said 2007-2010, I meant to say 2007-present and all V6 gasoline touaregs in north america have a timing chain, not belt. Also correct nooby, I remember reading that a while ago and forgot!
