You can pour your own bushes if you get really excited. The original nolathane compound was terrible, luckily they have changed it since then to be similar to superpro etc.
I'm not surprised it was terrible. From what I understand the original Nolathane Polyurethane bush was from the 70's. Tires and pretty much all rubbers and plastics were terrible back then compared to these days. Atleast when comparing materials available at a reasonable cost to consumers.

Nolathane these days is part of the Red Ranger group, along side Whiteline.

But yes. I have seen people making their own poyl bushes. Not something I am interested in to be honest. I prefer more mechanical fabrication.

Well all of the rear control arms came back. They fitted polyurethane bushes to ALL of the rear control arms. How ever I bought Eurowise adjustable toe arms with spherical bushes so I will use them in place of the standard toe arms. The bush inside the rear knuckle was replaced with EuroWise poly bush.
For the front I bought new upper control arms with their poly bushes. I also bought their front lower control arm poly bush kit and replaced the torn rubber bushes with them.

My brake pad check warning has come on. I checked both front and back and their is plenty of pad left. But all 4 rotors have noticeable lips to them. Most likely this is not their first set of pads.
I was looking for a set of 2 piece rotors. The rear is not doable in 2 piece because of the hand brake. This is a common issue for vehicles which use an internal drum parking brake and smaller size discs. There is simply no room to have the mounting bolts for a 2 piece rotor. Larger 350mm+ rotors often allow it to be done.
For the front I could not find any for a long time (except Ceika which I wanted to avoid). So I got some custom rotors priced up. The guy said he can do it but price is $2000+ (AUD) so I put it off.
Then while trolling the web I stumbled upon RacingBrake from USA who make 2 piece brake rotors for the Cayenne. Including the 330mm front rotors. I purchased the front Racing Brake rotors and they should be here in 2 weeks.
I also purchased DBA Street Series pads which are the least agressive ones and rear DBA rotors #DBA42245S which is their top spec rotor. They claim it uses a different material and different internal vane design.

Also got the wheels and tyres mounted and adjusted the height of the suspension.

Sorry, but why go with two piece rotor, but non aggressive pads, for a seemingly off road orientated vehicle? Unless you are tracking it (not likely with the suspension and tyres), you are going to run out of pad way before you'd be getting rotors hot enough to need 2 piece. I run more aggressive pads than that on my stock spec rotors.

Reduced weight.
Reduced rotational weight.
Reduced unsprung weight.
Reduces heat transfer to wheel bearings and hub, increasing the life of upper and lower ball joints, tie rod joint, wheel bearing and nearby electrical components attached to the hub.

The decreased weight increases comfort and grip.
Reduces load on suspension components and shock absorbers.
Reduces NVH and tyre wear.

Should be about 2.5kg per corner difference in weight.

2 piece rotors are rarely about increasing raw braking torque (power). A misconception perpetuated by the 'tuning' community.
A 2 piece rotor with aluminium mounting hat usually reduces the ability of a brake rotor to transfer heat away. It also usually reduces the total amount of heat it is capable of absorbing.
Although the aluminium hat is better at transferring heat than steel. The small contact patch of only the mounting bolts usually means that the heat stays in the rotor which also means that there is much less surface area than rotor + hat area.

The pads have also been carefully chosen as they match my driving conditions.

Brake rotors arrived from RacingBrake in the USA.
However my brake pads are rear rotors haven't arrived from SparesBox even though they listed everything in stock. A bottle of carwash liquid that was part of the order shipped and arrived separately.
It seems more and more common that online stores list items instock to get you to buy from them and then say the item is out of stock 'Sorry. We made a mistake'....
It seems that SparesBox may be the Australian version of ECS Tuning.....

I'm currently looking at replacing all of my rear bushes as well. Would love to do Nolathane one, do you have a contact that you could pass on to me? I see Eurowise do the bottom ones but not the top ones.

Hi mate.
They were made by Suspension Concepts in Wyong, NSW. The owner was the founder of Nolathane polyurethane bushes.

However I am not sure that I am too happy with them. Not because of what Suspension Concepts did. But because of the design they are not suited best for this. Not without custom machine work anyway.

Let me explain.
3 of the bushes (per side) are mounted in single shear. Because of this the VW engineers designed them with a radius mount. How ever Suspension Concepts would have to send out to have custom bush/sleeves to accommodate this. The cheaper option was chosen and they made it with standard bushes and then just roughly radius'd the poly bush. As it is soft and pliable it does not have to be exact.
This means that now the bush is only clamped by a small section and it is possible this could move.
Also during rotation the bush is now contacting the hub bearing surface. This will wear the poly bush very quickly.

I have not had any issues yet but I am keeping a close eye on them and expect these specific bushes to wear quickly.

Thanks for your feedback. Are you happy with the Eurowise bushes?
