So long store short need to replace my ECU after getting an error:

P0601 - 001 - Memory Check Sum Error - MIL ON

Part No SW: 7L0 910 560 F HW: 7L0 907 560

Any one know if "other" part numbers will work? Hard pressed to find a used ECU 7L0 910 560 F keep turning up either 7L0907560E (4.2l 2008 ) or 4D0907560DF (2006 4.2l)

Or... an even quicker search reveals you asked the same exact question, almost a year ago, on another forum. Looks like it resulted in some back N forth banter, not ending very nicely.

Good luck, if you actually have an issue... :)

Give BBA reman a call and see if they can repair your ECU?

Well no luck with BBA-reman :anger: At least they tried to find it.

Boy, that's a tough one. I finally confirmed the number you gave me originally, but no stock on that one and the workshop could not confirm they'd be able to even test it. So that's not one we can help you with at this time, I'm sorry.

I bought a brand new one for my 2005 on eBay. Ended up not needing but still keeping it ever needed. If you get a new one the immobilizer function is all that needs to get flashed for your VIN.

ok found a place with reasonable pricing. Cartech Electronics Ltd, Vehicle Engine Control Units (ECUs) Specialist Now just need to remove and ship it out.
There was a technical bulletin for T2 V8 4.2L engine BAR that indicated only thing needed was to install new software put in production. There are not a lot of ECM posts but certain I saw one that had a link to the bulletin. You did not give a lot of background but have you gone to VW and have them reflash the ECM?

Me too

I had a similar problem. Company used repair shop tried to re-flash and failed (no charge) so they suggested local VW dealer who charged $150 and failed to do it as well. Asked if I wanted to keep paying until they could fix it but I didn't feel like paying for their next vacation.

Tried VW Support (oxymoron) for an idea of what procedure to follow for the least cost but they had nothing.

Will check the tech bulleting but if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

The car is not behaving badly, in fact, I think the mpg has actually improved since it happened!

did they give you the error code? Be sides the pain in the @$$ to remove the ECU. I would email Cartech Electronics see what they can do for you. You will be with a car for about to two weeks tho.

Uncertain for the difficulties you have encountered. Now that your ECU is fixed I supposed you won't need anymore help. I have all the maps for the Touareg and I typically do a BDM flash as most ppl do an OBD flash. You could have asked for a performance increase.
