Hi everybody.

I am new to the community.

Just bought myself a Tuareg. Secondhand 189k Km. Full service history. I found that I can get to 120km per hour fairly quick, but not much luck reaching a higher speed. Anyone familiar with the same situation?

something is wrong then. Maybe a blocked CAT or dirty air/diesel filter.

Mine gets up to and beyond 120 very quickly.

Can't help on the speed but you should read this thread as a new owner of a Touareg [don't leave out the O!].

Buying a used Touareg. What to look for. - myTreg forums

Make sure you are running it on EXACTLY the right oil to avoid premature camshaft lobe wear. Even VW dealers have been known to use the wrong oil so unless you know with 1,000% certainty, you're due an oil and filter change plus, at your kms, new ATF if you have an auto otherwise new gearbox oil, front and rear diff oil and transfer box oil.

Due to the extremely stupid "you must post 10 posts before we let you see VERY useful info in people's signatures" rule the tecchie people have imposed on this site, you will miss this part of e4Pikanini's signature:

All vw/audi engines must use 507.00 spec oil except non-DPF R5/V10 engines that must use 505.01/506.01

Plus the other useful link and tip in mine:
