I bought this from ebay as I had a rattling grinding noise coming from what I thought was the alternator - nope - turns out it is my air conditioner :crying:
So - I don't need this unit - there is nothing wrong with it, just not the problem I need to fix. I am asking $300 to try and recover some $$$ that I will need for the air con compressor.

I should have said - I am happy to pay postage in Australia, included in the price.

Is it the coupling on the aircon - a known point of failure - rather than the air con compressor itself?

The same coupling is used on the R5 alternator and is now recommended as a service item for replacement at something like 80K miles.

Yes - it's the clutch bit. It is just about to tick over to 140,000kms so it sounds pretty normal timing.

The AC and alternator coupling and freewheel bearing are identical
