LONG time viewer and have gotten many good solutions, but now I am stuck.
-don't tell my wife
I left the sunroof open on the only day we got severe rain. about an inch in just a few hours.
Brake fault warning- brake light work
no green foot pedal
locked in park (how do I get it out? I saw a video, but that was 2005 and up)
error codes 0101, 0121, 0414
The electric brake controller was lit up even after having turned the car off
all fuses seem to be ok, the ones in the door opening left and right side
Battery power was very good (not anymore as it went 100% dead after a bit of a holiday)
Looking forward to ideas as I have researched quite a bit, but obviously not enough
during the rain, the car was parked slightly nose down and left down
tia

The 6 speed Aisin gearbox did not change from the Generation 1 2002 launch until the arrival of the 8 speed Aisin in Generation 2 in 2010 so that video should be good to show you how to access the release button that's hidden in the gear change lever console on the passenger side in left hand drive cars and on the driver's side in right hand drivers.

Have you fitted a new battery and dried everything out throughly?

Yes, all is dried ( 1 month ago) and yes new battery.
The video I saw showed how to get it out of P, but it turns out that the 2005 and up are different than the 2004
the '5' and up have a red piece and for mine that is not there.
I have not been successful in moving it.

Personally I wouldn't dismantle all this stuff on a 15 year old car - I'd measure carefully, cut a neat hole I could repair later [piece of carpet or somesusch for example] and then press the release tit.

Your car may also now be suffering from the well known dodgy splices in the loom as the location of the water in the flooding you mentioned is about right for a left hooker.

Yes, I saw that video several times :)

It's the trim around the hood release that I am having problems with
But thank you so far, impressive. I would not even dare to do this without this forum.

It took me a month to dare to do it, but it is done.

it was the brown wire with the red stripe.
I reset the codes, changed all the abs fuses (read that somewhere)
Now to humpty dumpty it back together.
