All,

My navigation system suddenly was off kilter in that my car isn't showing where it should be. I took it too a shop and they told me 4 hours diagnositic time. I figure that it'll be cheaper to buy a new system and have it installed.

So here are a couple of questions:

What do you folks recommend for a good in-dash navigation system?

I noticed that I can reposition my "car" on my current system. Does that usually work to resolve the problem?

Any input would be appreciated. I recently spent a lot of money on getting my car fixed. Wiring issues with the brakelight and the TMPS. It seems that the 2004 has a pretty poor wiring system.

Thanks.

I was able to fix it. Here is what I did in case it helps someone else.

1) Go to the Nav Screen, not the Map Screen.

2) At the bottom right, choose the button next to the checked boxes icon.

3) When you get that up, there is a settings button, choose it and there is a button that lets you relocate your car (mine looks like an arrow).

4) Move it to somewhere you know you are. I inputted my home address in the nav system - and when the flag popped up there, I relocated my car to the same spot.

5) Make sure that you have it pointing the right direction (North, South, East, West).

I hope that this helps if someone else runs into this issue. The shop I took it to estimated 4 hours labor time to figure out the problem. Saved myself $1,000.
