18" Manhattan Wheels & Tires

I am selling a set of four 18" OEM (not replica) Manhattan wheels and tires (no TPMS).

Tires are Continental CrossContact LX 255/55/R18. They have less than 1,500 miles on them so they're barely broken in. These tires are definitely the best all-around tire I've had on my Touareg. They're extremely smooth and quiet and handled the winter roads in Wisconsin with ease. I purchased them at Discount Tire in Madison for $210 each.

The rim pictures are pretty self-explanatory. They are in nearly perfect shape. You can hardly tell they've seen the road. I took a picture of each wheel with and without a flash just for good measure. Sorry, but I will not separate wheels and tires. I am buying 20" wheels and have no use for the tires so they must go together. I am asking $1,200 for the set plus shipping from 53593 unless someone can pick them up in or around Madison, WI.

Thanks for looking!

Hedge,

Yes, I purchased a full road hazard/replacement warranty from Discount Tire with the tires for an additional $80. I checked with them and the warranty goes with the tires to any owner. The rims are original and my Touareg has just over 28,000 miles on it, so that's how many miles are on the rims. The tires have less than 1,500 miles on them. This truck gets driven very little.

Well, I've seen these sets of Manhattan wheels for sale without tires for anywhere from $400-$600 on this forum and those weren't necessarily in perfect condition like mine. You can't find them anywhere for less than $205 per wheel, and that's for refurbished or replicas. These are OEM. I think $600 for the wheels is very reasonable.

As for the tires, I paid $900 for them with fully transferrable road hazard warranties. There's only about 1,500 miles on them and you can't buy these tires for a penny less than $800 as far as I know. I think that $600 is also reasonable for the tires.

However, at this point I will consider separating the wheels and tires for anyone interested. I will do $600 for the rims and $500 for the tires. Or $1,100 for the set.

Really? My humble opinion from watching this forum and ebay for the past two years is the rims are worthy $300 and the tires another $300 or so. Retail pricing is irrelevant to used price and these are used. Just do an Ebay completed item search. And believe me you are not the worst offender another member here is offering Everests (in the undesirable 19") for $1500 which is way out of line--and he got all mad at me when I suggested the same...so it goes.

Now add shipping (around $120 per wheel) and you see the problem.

I'm certainly not mad. I do appreciate the advice. I guess I just thought that $1,000 for a set-up that would cost $1,600-$1,700 new was a great deal. Is it really $120/wheel for shipping?! That I certainly wasn't aware of. Well, I can't give them away for $300 each. I need to get at least $1,000 for it all or it just doesn't make sense for me to sell.

If anyone is interested at $500 for wheels / $500 for tires, or $1,000 for all please let me know.

Thank you.

Just an FYI - I just scoured eBay and I found many single Manhattan wheels for sale ranging from $175-$250 each (refurbished). I didn't find any full sets sold, but I did find similar 18" Porsche Cayenne silver painted alloy wheels with tires that sold for $1,200-$1,300 slightly used.

I also checked shipping rates... From Madison, WI to Atlanta, GA the cost is about $35 per wheel+tire (50 lbs) via UPS ground and about $55 per wheel+tire to Los Angeles, CA. That's nowhere near the $120 each you were talking about. Rims are 18 lbs each and tires are 34 lbs each so obviously shipping either wheels or tires alone will be much cheaper.

You're way off base Carl.

$1,000 for the set or $500 for either wheel set or tire set! Anyone?

This is very typical of TOureg wheel sales. Cayennes are easier to sell more of them sold. If they are not selling at $700 what would you say market value is? Look, I hope your get $1000 for them.

I am ignoring items that haven't sold, and not just looking at the same item re-posted numerous times that didn't sell. There could be many reasons other than price that a particular item doesn't sell on eBay. It could be the seller or the way the seller posted the listing, making it hard to find in a search, or maybe even seeming suspicious by showing the same wheel at drastically different prices.

These however, did sell just this week, so I'd say it's a better indicator than the same same set of wheels re-posted 3 times that never sold...

18" 2011 PORSCHE CAYENNE WHEELS TIRES RIMS TOUAREG Q7 - eBay (item 250765052822 end time Mar-15-11 09:17:03 PDT)

For the record, I'm not interested in arguing and I'm certainly not mad. I just feel that I should defend the fact that my price is fair. I appreciate the advice and if I sit on these for a year then it's my own fault. But I don't think I will.

Still for sale! Make me an offer! $1,000 for all or $500 each for tires or wheels.

Yes and best of luck to you no doubt given retail pricing they are a great deal at your price. Especially for someone that wants to improve from current 17' to your 18"

Close Up Tread Pics

No problem. Shoulda had these here before anyway. There honestly is less than 1,500 miles on them. My wife drives this primarily and she works from home. It hardly ever gets driven and NEVER gets driven hard. The rubber is like new. Pics attached. These Conti's are a 680AB rated Low Rolling Resistance tire and are definitely the quietest I've ridden on. And great in the snow. Thanks for looking.
