Your dealer is putting you through hell, you think they would be more knowledgable about your problem.
Carbon build up is very common in the 2.0T engines like in my Passat which causes misfires when cold, would be rare for this to happen with the VR6 at 42K but the camera will tell you for certain what the upper intake looks like.
