My 09 owner's manual says to drain water from fuel filter at the 60K service. However, there is no purge valve or other water release mechanism on the bottom of the fuel filter canister. Can anyone provide guidance in this regard?
Drifter.....there is no water drain or water separator on our Tregs. All you can do is siphon out the remaining fuel and gunk, and clean the bottom of the filter canister when you change fuel filter. To address water contamination through out the entire fuel system the only thing you can really do besides taking everything apart for a cleaning is to add a fuel additive specifically for removal of water in your fuel system. Even then it doesn't chemically or physically remove the water. The additive just disperses it better so it is burnt up with the fuel instead of sitting somewhere as a big blob of water separated from the fuel.
