Hello,
For the past month or so, I have been having an issue with my V10. This problem happens at random and it doesn't matter if the car has been running for 5 minutes or for 3 hours.
So, at random times the engine workshop fault warning light comes on and I loose power (limp mode). The warning will come on and I will immediately loose power. I am still able to drive, but I have no way to speed up. It takes forever for the vehicle to regain speed. The transmission still shifts smoothly through all gears, it just doesn't go fast anymore.
I can get it to reset and clear the issue if I stop, turn the car off, and then turn it back on. But that doesn't always last. Sometimes it will last for a few days or weeks. Other times it will only last for a few minutes (it will usually cut out on me right after I get back on the freeway).
It doesn't seem to matter if I am cruising down the freeway, accelerating fast from a street light, or just easing into it. It will cut out whenever.
About a month ago, I had a friend run a vcds diagnostics for me to see what codes came up, unfortunately the check engine light was NOT on at that time. Now this issue happened again to me this entire past weekend and the light stayed on. So I had my friend run another vcds check last night. Attached you can find both sets or results.
It does seem to be more apparent in heavier traffic areas. I live in northern MN near Lake Superior and I commute south the Minneapolis, Mn during the week for work. This is about a 160 mile trip one way (2.5 hrs). When I leave my home Monday morning, I can make it to the Northern side of Minneapolis before it will trip (vehicle has been at operating temps for 2 hrs). But on the way home on Fridays, I will only make it about ±20 miles before it will trip and the engine is barely up to full operating temps.
I do have the ecu's tuned to remove the dpf regen cyle out. So some of the codes that you see may be related to that.
I also, already know that my ac system needs to be recharged at a minimum. I'm not sure if the rest of the codes related to the hvac system are worse or if the will disappear once I have the system recharged. The first diagnostic check, the ac/heat system was turned off. The second time it was turned on.
Beyond that, I also already know about the intake manifold flap motor.
Can any of you point in the right direction as to what this problem could be? Could the Boost Pressure Regulation or Mass Air Flow Sensor codes be triggering the issue?
I am looking for genuine help here. I am not looking for someone to start trouble, say I'm dumb for doing something or not doing something. If you don't have anything nice to say about me or my situation, then please DO NOT comment.
Thank you.
Peter
