hi All My 2012 (7P) Touareg is having timing chain rattle at start up. It has been there for the last 2 years and now lasting for a longer period. Few times, I have noticed it lasting for 2-3 minutes and the goes away. I have decided not to wait any longer (and get in to a bigger trouble) and...

I have recently acquired a 07 touareg with the v6. The timing chain needs to be replaced and I was wondering what replacement kit you guys recommend. I am also wondering what else I should replace while the engine is removed. (Already changing the intake gaskets) Thanks for the advice

I'm looking at purchasing a 2013 Touareg TDI LUX with 103,000 miles. I've never owned a diesel but read enough about these where I believe I want one. The one I've looked at is in really good condition and seems to run really well. I've read quite a bit about failing timing chains in the 3.0 TDI...

Thanks for your help in advance forum members. Can anyone please confirm whether the 2008 v6 has a timing belt, or timing chain? The owners manual seems to reference a belt, but I've seen several posts here indicating it's a chain. Just a quick belt/chain answer will do. Thanks again!

  7. General Maintenance & Repair
The repair books say I have to remove the engine from my 2005 3.2 VR6 Touareg to replace the camshafts. It also says the engine and transmission are removed in one piece, out the bottom of the car. I don't have a lift so that is not an option. Does anyone know if I can pull just the motor out...
  8. General Maintenance & Repair
I have had ongoing issues with codes that related to ignition coils. VW said problem was wrong oil and all short trips. Changed coils, flushed engine, used 5W-40 synthetic but no fixes lasted. VW said a rebuild would correct problem. Finally they agreed to pay 80% although out of warranty. I had...
