  1. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

    Auto Anything (Non-Touareg Topics)
The newer motor loses a little bit of low end torque for more horsepower higher up. This may be the difference you felt rather than pre/post fix.
  2. Q7 S-line 21" Wheels on T3

Brakes, Steering, Suspension, Wheels and Tires
I was able to order the tires through a local tire dealer that I've been going to for years. I think they were Yokohama Advan something or others. You can check Tire Rack too. The original tires that came on the wheels were Michelins.
  3. New Wheels & Suspension Plans! (Pictures Attached)

Brakes, Steering, Suspension, Wheels and Tires
I had mine for roughly two years before turning the Touareg in. No issues.

The $1500 check for my 2011 arrived today. The vehicle was turned in July 7th. I think that's a wrap.
  6. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

    Auto Anything (Non-Touareg Topics)
As far as I know, Bosch has yet to pay out anything for the 3.0L, including my 2011 which was turned in July 7th.
  7. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

Sorry... still coming back to read the news updates even though mine is gone. Does that count for something? Lots of V6 owners still around too, but I doubt many of them venture into this thread.
  8. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

    Auto Anything (Non-Touareg Topics)
When I turned mine in I had snow tires on the original wheels. I put the original tires in the back (50% tread) and the guy said, "are you sure you don't want these, you don't need to turn them in." I said I was sure since they've been on Craigslist off and on for over a year with no bites...
  9. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

    Auto Anything (Non-Touareg Topics)
Buyback was a piece of cake today. 2:30 appointment, out the door by 2:40. I signed the paperwork while the guy went out and took pictures/verified mileage. He uploaded the documents and I had an email receipt before I left.
  10. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

    Auto Anything (Non-Touareg Topics)
I think it means if the buyback isn't enough to cover what is owed on the loan, then you will get up to 30% more to pay the vehicle off. I could be misinterpreting that, but that's how I take it. With the buyback values though I can't imagine there's a single person that's upside down on their...
  11. Finally seeing the price of diesel drop

    Drivers Lounge
They may be supplied by the same company, but chances are each has their own proprietary blend/additives just like any other OEM that supplies their product to multiple companies.
  12. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

The warranty covers the heater replacement, but I don't believe it covers the nox sensor which is a separate issue all together.
  13. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

I wasn't very clear. It should have read after your buyback appointment. They won't contact you before the appointment. From here: https://www.vwcourtsettlement.com/en/3-0-models/
  14. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

    Auto Anything (Non-Touareg Topics)
I paid mine off at the beginning of the year in anticipation of an easier buyback process. I was able to set an appointment today for July 7th. It may just be my dealership, but appointments are only available on Thursdays and Fridays.
  15. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

    Auto Anything (Non-Touareg Topics)
I agree with this 100%. The Gen 2 motor is also when the Cayenne, Q5/Q7, and A6/7/8 came into the mix which are higher dollar vehicles and earlier in their life cycle.

...but there was no mail today?

I also have Weathertech floor liners available that I forgot about because they're in the car in storage. They are in great shape and were only used during the winter months for two seasons. The Monster Mats were used during summer months. $120 shipped?
  18. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

    Auto Anything (Non-Touareg Topics)
If you're not driving it, then you're racking up massive dollars with the mileage adjustment. I have 54k miles on my 2011 and stopped driving it in December when I found the perfect replacement vehicle. Just since December that's 7,500 miles worth of value. The total mileage adjustment dating...
  19. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

    Auto Anything (Non-Touareg Topics)
On 11/2/15 the EPA announced that they discovered a defeat device in the 3.0 TDIs and on 11/3/15 a stop sale was issued for all new and certified 3.0 TDIs. Half of the restitution portion of the payment goes to the previous owner if the vehicle was sold/purchased after the 11/2/15 deadline...
  20. VW TDI EPA Recall (2.0L and 3.0L)

    Auto Anything (Non-Touareg Topics)
There was a warranty extension on the AdBlue heater within the last 6-8 months. Along with the letter was a form to fill out if you had paid to have the repair done. VW covered half of the repair when mine failed, but I received the half that I did pay for back as a check after sending the...
