Centre arm rest console in touareg 2

Hi all,
I am having my treg from past 7years now but i have not understood one feature that exist that is in the top section of centre armrest console,it has this point and a holder for a device,does anyone knows what is it?

Don't drink and drive - you might shpill - hic - it!

I assume you know that if you press both buttons in on the centre console at the same time the armrest slides to and fro? [Just mind your fingers when you do it!]

There have been several instances where a knowledgeable member from this site has gone to buy a used Touareg someone has owned for several years and been able to show them things the owner never knew were on the car - the opening tailgate glass on the T1s and T2s is a classic!

Funny thing is that piece disappeared in the NA models in the 09-10 Touareg also. Now it is just a space to store stuff. I generally put my wallet there on long trips or when I go on a mountain bike ride. Most if they broke in would not know about that spot anyhow.

You may have same problem as me. The big cup holder has a little push/click lock to keep it stowed flat when opening /closing the armrest lid.
My plastic tip that engages with the lock is broken. So when I open lid the cup holder springs into action and is has to be held flat as you close lid.
I found the broken piece ( was like this when purchased) and dismantled the lid to re glue the plastic but its so small and any excess glue will stop it from working.

Need new part or wreckers.

i suppose you are very much correct because the bluetooth software in my touareg is of nokia that is why the apple phones never gets connected.though i really dont think any nokia phone comes with this kind of socket anymore.

Quite right! I never use the facility but had it in mind you had to push both in together.

well what do you know? It works. An added degree of comfort for the left arm.
