Well guys I did it! Today I ordered a 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo. I will be trading in the Volkswagen next Friday. I have it posted for sale here in the classified section (2013 VR6 Exec Pure White / Cornsilk) #1 condition with 20k miles for $39,995.00. in case someone wants a great deal before I trade the car. I would love to see it go to a member rather than having the dealer making an outrageous amount of money.

The Porsche will be built in August and I expect delivery sometime in mid September. While I will be without my Touareg, I will spend the summer driving my 2009 Mazda Miata convertible. Not a big gig.

Good choice.

Let us know how you get on with it.

Congrats. I am waiting for the Macan diesel to come here as I will seriously consider it. Good luck with your build.

It actually means Tiger in Indonesian.

Congrats. What color and options?

I missed my local 'launch' party last week since I was in Savannah, GA. It would have been fun to see it firsthand since my wife may like this rig.

Regardless, it's too small (size and towing capacity) for me based on review of specs. Secondly, the fuel economy is not much better than my CTT (which has over 500 HP and Torque).

No doubt the Macan Turbo will be a hoot to drive though!

Drove a Macan the other day when car shopping, it has very little room behind the rear seat for luggage etc., similar to a Q5. Lots of pep and a tight suspension. Also drove the base Cayenne, liked the diesel over the base gas, but the seats in the Macan made a lot more sense and were more comfortable. You will enjoy your Macan, it is a true Porshe sports car.

I am going Turbo. Added the following options:

- White with the Garnet Red/Black full leather interior
- 18-way sports seats
- Air Suspension
- Porsche Active Suspension Management
- Sport Chrono Package
- Bose Audio
- Carbon Fiber Side Blades
- Trailer Hitch
- Premium Plus Package
- Lane Change assist and Lane Keep
- Pano roof
- PCM / Nav and voice activation
- Heated seats front and rear
- Ventilated front seats
- 20" Spyder Design Wheels
- Brushed Aluminum dash
- Alcantara headliner
- Three zone climate

Sticker will be mid to high $80's. I drove a very similar in stock car and the performance and handling were outstanding. It really is a bigger 911. The interior space is very good. And yes, the rear cargo area is a bit smaller than the Touareg or Cayenne but for a small family of 4 it works just fine for me. So now I wait.....

It's gonna be a long three months.

Excellent build and great colors!
The 18-way 'adaptive' seats are spectacular, in addition to the full leather interior and mull-zone heat/air! You will make excuses to drive it, no doubt!

I have most of the options you listed and enjoy them all. One option i would never do without is the Porsche Entry and Drive feature. A close second must have option (for me) is the roof rack, preferably in black. Lastly, i would have preferred the multi-function steering wheel with heated wheel. Instead, i have the Sportdesign and miss the quick volume adjustment and heat in the winter!

Can't wait to see some pics and hear more on the driving experience when yours arrives.

Yup. I did get the entry and drive as part of the premium plus package. Also, the Turbo comes standard with the 918 inspired heated multifunction steering wheel. Will keep you posted and share some pics when she finally arrives. Cheers!

The only silly thing with Porsche's Entry and Drive is the fake key on the left side. Gotta turn it to start instead of a button.

Ah yes, the Le Mans style key. That's because it's a Porsche.

LOL, something I will need to get used to if I get one. I'm still a ...because it's a VW guy!

So, the story goes that when the Le Mans drivers would run to their cars, the drive would jump in the seat, engage the clutch, and while starting the car with his left hand, he could quickly engage 1st gear with his right in order to get off to a quick start.

Kind of quirky but history and still preserved on all Porsche cars. I get it, the push button is nice, but at least you can still simply keep the fob in your pocket.

Definitely a must-have when coming from push button start over on the VW side of things.

Well now the MSRP is up to almost $89,000.00 as I have been reading the Macan forum and caught a bad case of option check box fever. Yes, got a small $1k discount off the Turbo which is pretty good as most dealers are out of allocations and selling for sticker of more.

That's true. The S is also a twin turbo, however the "Turbo" is a 3.6 liter engine running more boost, larger brakes and comes with a great deal more on the options sheet. Turbo models include the PCM/NAV, Alcantara headliner, Porsche Active Suspension Management, Bose audio, painted side blades, larger red PORSCHE brake calipers, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, lane change and lane keep assist, and a brushed aluminum interior trim package to name the most common perks. I was really thinking that I was going to order a Macan S, that's until I drove the Turbo. It's only 60HP (400 vs. 340) and the torque is 406 on the Turbo vs. 339 ft lbs on the S, but man can you feel it. You even can hear the Turbo with the louder whistle and exhaust burble. 0-60 times are 4.4 seconds, and the mid range acceleration from say 40-80 is remarkably faster. So, the Turbo it will be. Honestly, given the price and option package, the Macan is a great value when compared to the Cayenne.
