Hi guys,
Just aquired my first Touareg. Quite happy with it so far. Still learning what all the buttons and levers do. So far everything is working. Pretty good for a 10 year old car.

Just discovered that there is no CD cartridge in the back - user manual says it should be there.. needs further investigation.

Nice to have a forum to share and get infos from others.

Hi and welcome,
About your cd cartridge, its a common one with all vw/audi products of that day won't be hard to find. I was missing mine in my Audi and got it for around 10$ on ebay

Thanks for the link. Will have a look.

Its´s actually not the cd cartridge that is missing, it´s the whole cd changer. The mounting bracket is there with the connector stowed but no changer. Maybe it was never installed. I wander if this changer is standard or optional in this model. Does anyone know.?

Not all come with it, my 2004 didn't have one either but my 2006 and 2008 did. You should have an audio input either aux jack or rca black and red in the center console. If i remember right all of mine had that and you can just plug in ur phone then.

2004's do not have an aux jack. I recommend the GTA kit from gtacarkits.com. Works with nearly any media device.

Do you have the NAV unit or just the normal radio on your dashboard?

I had an 04 with nav. Ordered I iPod connector through carkits.com.

i have 2 V10 touaregs and both came with NAV and CD changers in the back
must be the model and spec'ing but if you have a V8 with NAV it is part of standard equipment i think.

You can have a CD changer without Nav in the 04. I installed one in mine and it worked fine since the harness was there for it. Nothing was bought other then the changer. Not even a motor specific thing since mine was a v6.
