I currently own at 2012 TDI with 40,000 and the fuel pump is not working properly! Go figure the car went out of warranty at 36,000. UGH!!!!! Has anyone else had fuel pump issues???

Everyone it seems to have had fuel pump issues and there are hundreds of posts on this forum. There are two fuel pumps in the fuel tank one behind driver seat one behind passenger seat. Access points are under the rear seats. Search the forum pretty certain any issue you have has been asked and answered.

are you talking about the HPFP? or the lift pump in the fuel tank. If it's the HPFP, you must have gotten a bad batch of fuel. These pumps are sensitive. If you do a search you will find a lot of information on the Fuel pump on the TDI.

yes, have a 2011 TDI and at 70K mi it gave me the squiggly line error which means glow plug error. From what the tech is saying and the lagging acceleration I'm experiencing I'm guessing it's a fuel pump issue. Per the tech. One can hope. The only thing I'm thankful for is that I bought a full-coverage extended warranty for this schnitzel-mobile as I own tons of German/Swiss equipment, and all of it $$$$$ to repair. Why would these cars be any different?
