Hi everyone

A quite odd problem is starting to test my nerves! I have a 2006 T1 v6 tdi with both front seats electrically operated with memory.

The problem only manifests itself to the backrest adjust and not other directions (e.g. front to back or height) and on both seats.

This is hard to explain but here it goes:
If say, i memorise the backrest at 45 degree (not normal but just an example to make understanding easier) it will memorise with no trouble. if i move the backrest to 55 degree then press the memory button, it will come back to the memorised 45 degree position no problem. If i move the backrest to 35 degree then press the memory button, it will come back to just 40 degree!! I have to move to around 46 degree then press memory button again to come to the set 45 degree... it can happen vice-versa as well...

It seems that the backrest has about 4 dead digrees...???

Now i have checked the measuring blocks from vag com for the backrest movement and the sensors do measure accurately the position!

I would say is something about the memory recall that's causing this behaviour...
Strangest thing is that is not just isolated to the driver's seat, the passenger's backrest behaves exactly the same!

I really need some help on this problem since i do use the memory function quite a lot and it's getting on my nerves! Every time i move the backrest to a different position (i have a really bad back :( ) i press the "1" button and nothing happens!!!

Thanks in advance!

No one?
I am still not able to return the backrest to it's memorised position on both driver and passenger seat... Tried every reset, reinitialisation, everything from the book and more, but doesn't help... The potentiometers read correctly and accurately....

Please help!

Playing with the bag com and found out a measuring block that stated whenever the memory function is active and saw that the memory does not activate (recall) when the backrest is in that "dead zone"...

So that means it's either a bug in the module's software/coding/firmware, or it's going bust...

The thing is that the passenger seat does the same thing, witch drives me to believe that there is a bug in the soft. How great of a coincidence should there be in order for both modules to go bust at the same time!

Anyway, ThePhoenix thanks for your reply! I will try to get the module out and thorowly inspect the module.
