Anyone know if the transmission software adapts shifting patterns to driving habbits? I thought I read this someplace and cannot find it now.

Yes. The car slowly over time learns the driver habits regarding shifting and acceleration. The learner habits can be reset when you receive the car. Just ask your dealer. -Jake

It is my understanding that you can easily reset the transmission:

1) put key in ignition (do not start)
2) press gas petal to floor for 10 sec

This is supposed to reset the tranny. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks.
This won't flood the engine?

I was just in for my 5K this morning. the svc rep said to turn key to on, not running, and depress the gas pedal to the floor two times. This is supposedly the way to reset the transmission to factory settings, according to him. Anyone know for sure??

No. Remember, the Touareg is 'drive by wire.'
There is no mechanical linkage to the throttle.
Even if it weren't drive-by-wire, it still wouldn't flood the engine. We ain't got no carburetors here.
