Hello All,

Been away from this site for a while. After my last attempt at getting a V10 T-Reg I ended up falling for just brute horsepower, and bought my wife a 3 year old ML63 AMG. It is an absolute blast to drive and meets all of her required criteria: Black interior and heated seats... (She is high maintenance in other areas).

We are now about 6 months away from the expiration of the CPO warranty on the ML, so it is time to sell and get something else. I was considering once again looking for a T-Reg V10. I am thinking I can get an 06/07 with lower miles (under 60K) and well optioned for lower $20's.

Is this a reasonable expectation?

Also, we don't plan on putting tons of miles on it... since we average 2500 miles on this car/year or less. I recall everyone telling me to get an aftermarket warranty. Do I really need one? Any particular company that the forum agrees is the best?

Thanks in advance and happy holidays!

New or use, on any german car, I expect it not to be tampered with in any way, and everything except tires, to be all original, including the rims. But that's just me. The V10 is so heavy, it's hard to get aftermarket rims that are or should be TUV certified.

I had the same feeling when seeing the ad. Other than that, how does price and condition look from your perspective?

Condition looks good as well as miles. What year is it and how much are they asking. It looks to have all the options.

There's a gorgeous 2007 V10 black / teak with air and center/rear differential lockers with 60,000 for sale in Chicago by a Club Touareg member (Malaka). I don't remember his asking price but it's identical to ours and I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I had room for another vehicle.

I second that, I'd love to purchase his car.

Guys,

I checked out the car and it definitely looks nice. What I can't understand is the difference in asking price between the lisitng I provided above, and the one listed in the forum.

There is a $5K difference (clos to 20% of the asking price) for the one with higher mileage. Is there something I am missing in the Black car? Maybe some equipment on it that I am forgetting to factor in?

Thanks for the advice

In 2006 I believe the V10 came with all the options except rear locker. The black one has the rear locker and the other one doesn't. I don't think the rear locker is worth an extra 5 grand IMHO.

The 2007's have the AFS front lighting that corner with the steering as well.

Rear locker + AFS + black on teak VS the wheat beige 06 is worth a premium to me IMO, maybe not 5 grand though.

+1. AFS is brilliant with bi-xenon lights and teak nappa leather looks really sharp. The leather is a preference, but I think the AFS is great. The other V10 you posted doesn't appear to have upgraded upholstery.

The rear locking differential I've only used a few times in northern Minnesota.

I really like the AFS on my T2 but the AFS plus rear locker isn't worth 5 grand IMO.

By the way the black 2007 doesn't have Nappa leather, it has Cricket leather.

I do think you are looking at the right time... seems there are a lot more V10's coming on the market these days than in the past. Good luck with your hunt. Personally I'd try to find a 2008 if you can wait. I still love mine and really don't know how I will be happy with whatever my next car is... there simply is nothing that compares to this thing.
