The car was at a complete stop I was at a red light!!!! And reversed to turn around to catch up to someone !!!! Yes I know driving in reverse is illegal lol but there were no cars coming but I was completely stopped at the light

That's not abuse Javiers, you're treg should handle this, some make it sound like the Treg is a wimp of a car when it comes to putting it in reverse.
The Treg is spec'd to have a towing capacity of about 7,700 pounds and include the weight of the treg, that tells you there are a heck of forces at play within the tranny especially at uphills meaning the treg's tranny should handle that.
I have a 3,000lb boat that I have to reverse uphill into storage which I have been doing for about 3 years now and the treg does it with ease. There's even a bump in the path that I have to to give quite some gas to get the boat's wheels over the bump.
So the scenario that Javiers explains is something the treg should handle for a $50K all wheel drive SUV and dont see how it can be considered abuse.

IIRC, the hill-holder feature is not even available on USDM models unless the trans is recoded for Euro/ROW setting. OP, do you know what Trans-coding you were on. I realize you only had it for 3 weeks, but hoping you know the answer to this.

Hill hold is available on all US Tregs, but typically only in low range. It is not active in hi unless you code it to do so as you said.

Any car can go wrong - even new ones - but the older they get, the more likely it is to happen.

J-turns, eh?!

If you've never done one, go somewhere where they'll teach you how to do it.

My boys loved them! And the A Team!!

Ummm.... What were ya doin'? If you don't mind me asking

I picture an ambush like in clear and present danger....and you had to get the president out of the situation....
No J turns Nooby :)...

I back up into my driveway, it's a rule I use, to always back up to my destination parking stop unless I can clear out going forward anyways. Unfortunately, my once upon a time quiet street has been picking up on traffic, and alas people who blow the stop sign a few hundred meters from my house. On two occasions, as I was preparing to back up, my spider sense tingled...and sure enough, I figured below 10 seconds before rear end impact.

Considering your stories of 100+mph with your passat and 35mph in reverse another time I am not suprised lol. Best of luck with it.

Hey its a used vehicle you have no ideal what its been thru unless they were close relative, friends or parked next door for the past few years that's the thrill of the used car its a lottery just smile when you talk to the warranty guy and you never read the forum.....good luck, let us in on the next chapter.
